LEARN packed up its’ maker van and was off to visit Western Quebec schools this spring. Our first stop was at Dr. Keon in Chapeau, Quebec. We had two fun filled days of hard fun, exploring various STEAM challenges, from programming robots, to building artbots, to making games in Scratch, to building bridges to name a few… The students excelled and had loads of success.
STEAM Day Challenges at Dr. Keon
As evident in all of the pictures, we had an outstanding two days with Chris and Christine. Students from grades 5 through 10 had a great time exploring, making and even failing! 4K- grade 4 were able to visit and be amazed by the accomplishments of the older students. Thanks once again to LEARN for providing this opportunity for our small, rural school!
I brought my Pre-K class down to observe what the older kids were doing for the STEAM challenges. We’ve been doing STEAM all year and they were THRILLED to know that Chris not only welcomed them into the workshop but got them completely involved in many of the different challenges! Thank-you from our entire class!
I was involved with a group doing a STEAM session. Awesome! Students were engaged and having fun at the same time without really realizing how much learning was going on! Thanks from all of us at D.W.K.S.
