Intensig did it again! This dynamic team of teachers put together a day that participants described as: Amazing! Great day! Awesome! Much appreciated! Well done! Great ideas! Participants came from service centers from all over Quebec to participate in this special day created specifically for Intensive ESL teachers.

Here are a few highlights from the day.

Social & Emotional Learning (SEL)

Voula kicked off the day by presenting participants with questions and tools to help reflect on what SEL looks like in their ESL classroom. She dropped SEL “kernels” throughout the day, and participants happily gobbled them up!

Tech Tool Hour

Claudia and Christine suggested fun tech tools that would motivate and engage our ESL learners. Participants listened and were left with the feeling of, “I want to try this NOW!!!”

New LES: Writing a Review

Are you looking for a LES that is simple to present, has lots of interesting texts, and that your students will LOVE? Christine has got you covered. In this LES, students will write a review of a Canadian event. But to get there, they are exposed to all sorts of interesting buggy, squishy, hilarious situations and events.

Super Snack Revisited

Are you familiar with the LES, SuperSnack that focuses on media literacy? Well, Annie and Gabriel added a new component that will make your students learn with laughter! A fun addition to help students become more aware of how advertisers use emotions to help you remember their product.

Book Tasting Hour

We ended the day with a tour of Carolann’s Book Tasting Event. Participants were exposed to so many beautiful books to explore and review. Their books became the soup, appetizer, main course and dessert at this Book Tasting Event!

The day concluded with a couple give-aways, and participants headed home brimming with new ideas, uplifted spirits, and a refreshing Bubly for the road!

Intensig would like to thank Karine Mallet of the CSSDA for hosting us, and Maria Corsetto of SPEAQ for helping members organize the day. I would personally like to thank our terrific Intensig team for their commitment and generosity in continuously supporting our ESL community.
