Diving Deeper: Using Stories to Enrich Language Learning and Critical Literacies

The School of Education at Bishop’s University is hosting a one-day conference titled Diving Deeper: Using Stories to Enrich Language Learning and Critical Literacies on Oct 21, 2024 (Monday, 8:45 am – 3:30 pm) on behalf of the ELLiL Project (English Language and Literature – In-depth Learning).

This FREE one-day conference aims to support teachers of English language learners in engaging their students in in-depth learning through the use of literature in the language classrooms. Deep reading of literary texts means students interact with the text to make links with their own lives, experience empathy, and engage in perspective-taking while generating creative multilingual or artistic responses.
