Tell a Digital
Story in French

Students create Digital Stories in French that explore their personal experiences and reasons for learning French as a second language. Teachers work with bilingual facilitators from Productions Oracle to guide students through the creative process over 3-7 weeks.

Project Requirements

  1. The creation process is done mostly or entirely in French.
  2. Teachers participate in a 75 minute orientation session with LEARN at the onset of the project and report back online to share outcomes and artifacts as projects wrap up.

Teachers participate in a 75 minute orientation session with LEARN.

Teachers use or adapt LEARN’s List of Guiding Questions to explore students’ personal experiences and reasons for learning French.

Teachers collaborate with artists to guide students in creating digital stories about their personal experiences and motivations for learning French. Artists provide three in-person workshop sessions, each lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

Students reflect on their experience and use of French, then celebrate and showcase their completed project with the school and/or broader community.

Teachers share project outcomes and artifacts with LEARN.

Collaborating artists

Alyssa Kuzmarov and Jean-Michel Sauri, Productions Oracle

Through PRODUCTIONS ORACLE, Alyssa Kuzmarov & Jean-Michel Sauri have developed a unique, collaborative process that merges fun and laughter with learning and meaning. Alyssa’s background is in social work and she has been working on creative projects with youth using writing & video for over 25 years in schools & in the community. Jean-Michel, originally from Marseille, has worked in various roles in the film world for over 20 years, both in France and in Quebec. Their strength is creating a fun and safe space where youth feel they can share authentic moments in their lives and take risks in their creations as they engage with every step of the production.
