The Inuit and their ancestors have lived in what is now northern Canada, Russia, the United States and Greenland for over 4000 years, making theirs probably one of the oldest cultures in the world.  Yet their life was a harsh one, a nomadic one, and for many months of the year a cold one!  How did they live and survive?  What is their life like now?  Read more about their society and territory using the navigation at right!

Note: This site section is being updated to include new information, texts and images about Inuit from 1980 until the present day (2020).   Pages added to the original RECITUS site page are indicated with a ❖ symbol.
