Inspire your students to thrive as bilingual Quebecers

Ma place est ici! is created to inspire students in Quebec’s English schools to level up their French and deepen their sense of belonging in Quebec.

Participating schools gain access to teaching Artists from ELAN’s ArtistsInspire program, classroom resources developed by LEARN, and funding to make a real impact in their community.

Introducing: I Work Here

Collaborate with social economy experts to design and launch entrepreneurship projects that strengthen communities while building French and employability skills.

Open to students in English-language schools in Cycle 3 Elementary,
Secondary 1 to 5 or Adult Education & Vocational Centres.

Option 1

Take action

Make a Difference

Engage your students in a meaningful, hands-on learning experience that allows them to practice their French while making a difference in their community. What exactly students do is up to you!

Option 2

Comic Zine

Make Art

Students create Comic Zines, either entirely in French or in both French and English, that explore their personal experiences and reasons for learning French. Teachers work with bilingual comic artist Laurence Dea Dionne or graphic novelist Scott MacLeod to guide students through the creative process over 3-7 weeks. The project culminates in a celebration showcasing the students’ finished work.

Option 3

Digital Storytelling

Students create Digital Stories in French that explore their personal experiences and reasons for learning French as a second language. Teachers work with bilingual educational consultants to guide students through the creative process over 3-7 weeks.

Option 4

I Work Here

Build the future

Students collaborate with social economy experts to design and implement social entrepreneurship projects, using French as they plan, communicate, and create meaningful initiatives in their communities.
